THE COMPANY
Beginning his career as a Professional Modelmaker in 1977 Brian
Gallagher founded B. G. Models Ltd in 1991, originally based
in the Templeton Business Centre, Glasgow. Over the years the
Company has built a reputation for outstanding quality and creativity,
specialising in the construction of high specification Architectural
models.
In 2001 the Company relocated to a new Studio in the historical
country town of Biggar, South Lanarkshire.
The Company has continued
to perfect the production of hand crafted models and has consolidated
its position as a centre
of excellence.
NATURE OF BUSINESS
The Company is a multi disciplinary modelmaking
Company specialising in the construction of very high specification
hand crafted models.
All aspects of commercial modelmaking are undertaken along with
private commissions. The company has specialized in the construction
of high specification architectural models.
The Company caters for
the architectural, property development, museum, exhibition
and industrial sectors throughout Scotland
and beyond.
A diversification has been the design and construction
of contemporary furniture.
BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY
The Company’s aim is to achieve complete
customer satisfaction and to go beyond expectation, allowing
customers to get on with
their business without worrying about the model. Drawing inspiration
from the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th and early
20th centuries, it is the long-term aim of the Company to create
unique hand crafted models in an age of technological sameness
and mediocrity, promoting our clients projects by the skill and
quality of our finished hand crafted products.
FACILITIES
The Company is based in a purpose designed detached
Studio set within private gardens at the heart of the historic
country town
of Biggar nestling in the foot hills of the Scottish Borders.
The
Studio comprises of two main work areas fully equipped with
a full suite of machine and hand tools, separate custom built
spray shop, office and toilet facilities.
The workshop is fully
accessible to the disabled and is currently being upgraded to meet
the latest disability access laws.
The private gardens offer a quiet
outdoor meeting and viewing space. Alternatively meetings can be
held at one of the excellent
hotels/pubs while enjoying lunch.
THE FUTURE
The move to Biggar has been a huge success and bodes
well for the future. The Company has forged a close working relationship
with Edinburgh based Coevolution, a dynamic, computer visualisation
company, run by Adam Brewster and Helen Jackson, the two companies
working together on an exciting exhibition project for the Velux
Company Ltd. B. G. Models Ltd will promote this partnership of
computer modelling with traditional physical models.

for the Velux Company, developers, architects, local
authorities and museums.
The Glasgow School of Art use their 1:60 scale model of
the Art School for travelling exhibitions throughout Europe
and beyond, promoting the School and the work of C.R. Mackintosh.
